The 60179 set from the City series was created in 2018 and unfortunately it is withdrawn, which means that its price has soared. But surprisingly, even at this inflated price, this particular helicopter model is worth buying. It is surprising how big and nice the helicopter is. The list price was set at the level of small sets, from which you can build a single technical car, etc. and here we get a really large medical helicopter. So if you manage to get this set at a fairly normal price (I guess that such things are only real in small stores, where Lego® is not the main product), don’t even hesitate.
We only have 190 bricks here, so the construction process itself is quick and easy even for a 5-year-old, but the resulting helicopter is great for fun. As you can see in the photos, it is a mountain rescue helicopter adapted to flights in winter. It fits perfectly with the recently reviewed winter resort, and because we live in the mountains, this time we also chose the charming little mountain village of Przesieka for the photos, where on a very windy Christmas day we went to the Czerwien River Valley. The wind was blowing so that the rear rotor of the helicopter was spinning …
The helicopter has an opening hatch to which you can load the wretch on a stretcher and a place to attach skis or a snowboard. The place for the mountain rescuer is on such a tilting step. A bit of detail is missing in the pilot’s cabin – there is only a radar without a joystick. On the other hand, the open part of the helicopter is rich in details – we have a monitor with vital functions, a drip, and a syringe. A place for the stretcher is well thought out.
There are two mountain rescuers including one pilot and of course a tourist in need of help. One lifeguard is a woman (she has very nice hair with a hat). In general, the minifigures are refined and the graphics on the torsos are very precise (the snowboarder has a down jacket).
A nice little set that is not so small when folded and gives a lot of fun to play.
