We really like the entire series from 2019 called Lego® City Mars Exploration. It is consistent in terms of color and concept. It is just pretty. That is why we have practically all its sets. Two large sets have already been presented to you in previous entries. Now it’s time for a smaller set, but due to the fact that it is cheaper and can now be purchased at large discounts in stores, it can be a very interesting entry.
So we present a six-wheeled Mars rover. It is decorated in white and orange colors, which is why we like it very much. We had a similar color scheme for the Arctic series which also looked great. We will assemble the vehicle from only 202 bricks and it will not cause any technical problems. Interestingly, the rover uses plastic wheels to move around on a foreign planet (and it makes sense because you don’t know how rubber would behave in extreme conditions …). The wheels have slack on the joints, which makes it seem that the rover is adapted to move around difficult terrain. Therefore the vehicle makes a specific noise when it moves and that is also interesting. It is not known whether it was a well-conceived from the designers or just cutting costs. Some people are bothered by the lack of tires, we treat it as a curiosity and differentness of this vehicle.
The cabin cover is nicely finished, hiding space for one person with the control console. The fun effect is ensured by the extendable arm and gripper. We can use it to pick up a piece of Martian rock. In addition, the set includes two minifigures. The girl is a ground worker. He has a laptop with a print on it, and he probably uses a telescope … The astronaut guy has a sort of remote control, maybe he could use the rover arm. The astronaut’s new helmet is interesting.
To sum up, a nice, inexpensive set that will surely appeal to boys at the age where the passion for space is the greatest.
